How I got into Marine Science: : My parents traveled a lot when I was growing up and I was fortunate enough to live all around the world and always by the ocean. There was always something new and exciting to learn about in the ocean, and that fascination still drives me today.
Research Interests: I am interesting in exploring new ways of solving problems and answering questions. I work with corals because they encompass so much complex biology found in the animal kingdom.
Interests growing up: I was a star athlete but I was always fascinated by the ocean and I wanted to be a marine biologist since after seeing films by Jacque Cousteau.
Scientific Mission: Do research and education that contributes to the mission of preserving and conserving coral reefs, and, to raise awareness about coral reef conservation and answer pressing problems threatening their existence.
Advice for Young Scientists: Do what you're passionate about and don't worry about being judged by others. If you do your best you will always succeed.
